I’ve been a Victim! Don’t Fall Prey!

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Yes, indeed, I’ve been a victim! You, too, can become a victim to this unless you protect yourself!

What was the crime? A minor one, I suppose, but none the less, I feel like a victim!

After having to take a week off to attend to some things, when I returned to this site to continue on where I left off, I had all the intentions of picking up right where I had stopped. Of course, before I could do that, there were emails I needed to catch up on, as well as some other items. Then, as any good internet marketer should do, is stay abreast of whats happening in the IM world. Newsletters, video’s that have been released to learn from, other blog posts, etc., etc. Before you know it, you’re NOT working on your own stuff, but spending a bunch of time surfing and the like!

It’s great to continue on with your education, learning from others to see what works, what doesn’t, the latest trends, the newest software applications released that are suppose to make your work life easier, and the list goes on and on. Another week has passed for me, catching up with all this, and I didn’t really do much for my own website here!

Don’t fall prey to becoming a victim of this crime! It’s all about balance and scheduling. Sure, you need to get current again after being absent for a time, but you need to work on your own projects as well, otherwise you won’t accomplish your goals that you started in the beginning!

I won’t penalize myself too much because of this, and you shouldn’t knock yourself either when you stray from what you “should be doing” as opposed to “what you ARE doing.” We all have times where it’s just easier to keep on learning, or doing other activities, instead of implementing what we are learning. Just realize if you don’t work ever on your own stuff, you’ll never get to where you want to be! So learn, but utilize these methods too!

I’ve been a victim of this more or less harmless crime, but you don’t have to fall prey to it if you know that there will be times when you don’t or can’t work on your own material, and you just accept that for what it is. Allow yourself a day or 2 to “catch up,” but then on the next day, regardless of how much more catching up you have to do, put it aside, it WILL be there later to get to, promise. Take a day to work on your stuff, that really is more important than the other things! Even if you have to alternate days between catching up & doing your own sites. Eventually, you’ll fall back into your “normal schedule or routine.”  And you do have a regular routine, right? Time management is crucial!
