Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Disclaimers

A privacy policy is a good thing to have on your website. Not only will this set customers minds at ease, but many companies or affiliates that you plan on dealing with (like google adsense, for example), now are requiring you to have these pages on your website.

While you’re at it, if you are selling digital products, it’s a good idea to cover yourself by having a product disclaimer, as well as an earnings disclaimer.

There’s other assorted disclaimers you may want to post as well, depending on the exact needs of your site.

If you have a membership site, or similar, where other people are using and accessing your data bases, servers and the like, stick in a terms of use page too. That lets users know what’s expected of them.

All these pages are fairly easy to create. There’s plenty that are available for your use that you can just copy and paste. Use your favorite search engine to find them.

Nothing says you can’t put all these different statements on the same page either. Thats what I did with this site. Took about 5 minutes to copy & paste them into my template. Save yourself some time, and once you have these statements set up the way you want them, save it to a notepad file. Next time you create a website, just copy & paste it onto a page for that new site. Simple but effective.
