Create A Successful Website Package Done!

Monday, June 16th, 2008

One of the things I did manage to get done this past week was to finish (mostly) the create a successful website package. It took 15 hours to setup the sales page (homepage at the retail site); make the thank you page; go through, collect, organize & zip all the products (well over 1GB!); set up the payment & download links; etc.

The actual payment links aren’t functional as of yet, but everything is getting there. They’ll soon be done & ready to accept your order for this truly spectacular package offering! Keep watching!  Make sure if you want the discount price, you order through the page here: ebook package instead of at the retail site I set up here: create a successful website.

Retail website vs Discount website

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Having a retail site to sell your items will obviously gain you more money per sale than a similar discount site offering the same items.

But consider this: many IM people have duplicate sites. The first website, the retail site, is for any sales they can catch outside of their regular customer base. Sure, these same buyers “could” get the merchandise cheaper if they searched for the discount site. Many will not though, so they pay a bit more.

The discount site, is the exact same site as the retail site, the only difference being is the price. Now, there are a few different ways one can go about accomplishing this. One, you set up the retail site at one domain, then you just copy the entire site, changing the price, then loading it onto a new domain. OR, you could set up the retail site, then just reference it on the discount site telling these (discount) site viewers to NOT buy from that site, but instead, to buy from the discount site. Is it a waste of time doing that? After all, setting up the retail website may not get any sales at all.

Well, consider this: you are showing potential buyers (at your discount site) that you ARE trying to sell (whatever) at the retail price. First off, it shows buyers the value of what they will be getting, only at a reduced price (what a bargain!). Secondly, if you leave the discount website for your regular customers, they will appreciate it knowing that they are getting something at a discount price. Then you should also be promoting your retail website outside of your normal avenues. That may gain you future customers (who will then after be entitled to some discounts from you). You benefit from the retail website by acquiring the retail price. In addition, you may gain even more sales from the discount website “because of” the implied retail site. Everyone loves a discount, and when people see that you are selling (whatever) at your retail website for $xx, but they can get it for $xx (much less) at your discount site, that’s a good buying incentive!

For instance, I have setup the “retail website” for the create a successful website package, offering it for $97. This blog you are reading here, IS my discount site, and you can get this same successful website package off of this site, for just $47! That’s $50 off the normal price!!! Now THAT’S a pretty good discount if I do say so myself! Because you decided to read this experiment website, you are entitled to get the package for less than half off!

Setting up dual sites, a retail website and a discount website may take twice as long, and/or cost twice as much do, but can be very beneficial if you use this technique correctly. Just remember, you’re benefitting in multiple ways; full price from the retail site sales & possible increased sales from the discount site when potential buyers realize they can get it less inexpensively! Especially when they see that you ARE selling it for more somewhere else!
