Blog Commenting for Traffic

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

Since we all tend to view other peoples blogs, whether looking for specific information, to kill some time, just browsing for amusement, or to keep up on your favorite subjects, what you should be doing - while - you are going through those blogs, is leaving relevant or appropriate comments on them.

By doing this, you will not only help your SEO search engine rankings, but perhaps gain some additional traffic to your own sites as well since some viewers will want to see who’s commenting on the blog. Then, of course, if they like what you have to say, they may visit your site from the link thats attached to your name (when you leave a comment on a blog, most blogs link whatever “name” you insert to the website url you input).

So start blog commenting for traffic and helping yourself to get some free traffic while you are visiting those blogs!  That’s what I’ve been doing for the last week or so to try and gain some traffic to check out this site!

Feedburner Feeds For Feeding

Friday, May 16th, 2008

When you have a blog, you should add the Feedburner Feed to it. This gives readers a way to subscribe to your rss feed from your blog. This will keep visitors returning to your site to keep up to date on what’s happening with it. Takes about 10 minutes to sign up, select some options & input into your own site.

The Feedburner site makes it easy for you to implement on your site. They give you a chicklet (a little icon) to paste into your blog. See the orange icon on my sidebar towards the top? That’s the feedburner feed chicklet. When people click on it, they can subscribe to this site. There’s other designs for the chicklet that you can select as well.

Feedburner feeds for feeding is just another promotion strategy that I have am using on this site for obtaining traffic to it. You must use several ways to get traffic, as well as methods to keep all that traffic, if you intend on having any success with your sites.

Try Text Ad Exchanges for Traffic

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Have you ever seen these traffic exchanges? They’re called text ad exchanges. You join the exchange (free) and you can post between 1-20 ads every day, for free!

You basically acquire credits, from a variety of different methods, which you then exchange for traffic to your websites.

The traffic comes from the other members in the text ad exchange, which see your banner ads, text ads, traffic links, or receive the solo emails that you can send to them.

It’s another source for more traffic to your websites. The one thing I would recommend if joining any of these, is that you start up a new email account! As they send you solo ads from the other members.

I ran across this from my daily browsing of other peoples sites (you have to keep tabs on whats going on!). There is a really neat game plan listed on this site I found that explains how to use these traffic exchanges to get the most out of them. Check it out: traffic system.

Below is the one I joined & am using to give this site some extra traffic!

Another Widget for obtaining Traffic

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

A friend told me about another widget for obtaining traffic so I decided to add this one onto the blog too. There’s lots of these types of widgets for supposedly getting more web traffic to your sites. Some work well, and some don’t. It all depends upon the subject matter of your blog to how well any given device will work for you.

This one in particular, link2blogs, took about 5 minutes to sign up, obtain the html codes & install onto the blog (on the sidebar). An easy one to do to possibly acquire some additional traffic. Whether or not it actually produces the traffic is yet to be seen.

Traffic Theory and Techniques

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Have you noticed that I am making a lot single posts for every different subject I’m talking about? Thats part of my overall traffic theory and one of the many techniques that I am using to try and get some traffic to this blog.

If I get enough posts on this blog, it should give the search engines something to grab onto. Or at least hopefully, take notice of! While I am doing this though, I am breaking it down to give you some steps to follow for creating your own websites or blogs. I’m making it simple for you, even though it makes it a bit more difficult on my end. You see, since I’m creating this website as we go along, I am also trying to write these posts after I get done doing whatever it is that I’m doing. Not only that, but I am simultaneously creating an ebook package for later resale that describes in even more detail than you are getting here, on exactly what it is you need to do to create your own sites. Including my special Traffic theory and techniques and all the other requirements necessary to complete a website. The hard part is not repeating what is said here, in the ebook. After all, you’re just not going to want to reread the same old stuff that you have read here!

OK, back to the traffic techniques. It is said that while your titles in a blog help with SEO for the search engines, you also need to have a certain amount of content on the pages (or in the posts). This content should also contain keywords that are in the title as well, for maximum SEO strength. So how do you highlight, or make sure your seo tactics get noticed? Why, you just bold, italicize and underline some of the various words that you want to be picked up. Just so you know too, this is a debatable subject whether or not the highlighting actually benefits you. I say use it, surely it couldn’t hurt.

For instance, it’s not a good thing to repeat a word like traffic theory over and over again throughout the entire post. Search engines, as well as the visitors that are actually reading your blog, would know something was up. So you have to have your posts make sense, while at the same time, gain maximum effect for the traffic strategies you have in mind. They say you should really write for your readers, and when applicable, insert those special keywords, like website traffic, into only places where they are going to make sense when the reader reads your posts. Once in awhile, spread throughout your posts, but only if they actually make sense when its read, is fine. Plus it’s a traffic tactic that can only help you.

Along with highlighting, another easy to do technique is to incorporate your previous posts into your current posts if you’re able, and it’s relevant. Not only will you gain the links that the search engines will pick up on when they index the post, but your readers may decide its something worth checking out as well.

Everybody has their own style and thoughts about traffic theory and techniques that they use, but the above is one of mine that I’m implementing into this blog. I’m sure there will be more as we go along that I’ll share with you! Now I’m off to install a few more widgets into this blog…
