Traffic Theory and Techniques

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Have you noticed that I am making a lot single posts for every different subject I’m talking about? Thats part of my overall traffic theory and one of the many techniques that I am using to try and get some traffic to this blog.

If I get enough posts on this blog, it should give the search engines something to grab onto. Or at least hopefully, take notice of! While I am doing this though, I am breaking it down to give you some steps to follow for creating your own websites or blogs. I’m making it simple for you, even though it makes it a bit more difficult on my end. You see, since I’m creating this website as we go along, I am also trying to write these posts after I get done doing whatever it is that I’m doing. Not only that, but I am simultaneously creating an ebook package for later resale that describes in even more detail than you are getting here, on exactly what it is you need to do to create your own sites. Including my special Traffic theory and techniques and all the other requirements necessary to complete a website. The hard part is not repeating what is said here, in the ebook. After all, you’re just not going to want to reread the same old stuff that you have read here!

OK, back to the traffic techniques. It is said that while your titles in a blog help with SEO for the search engines, you also need to have a certain amount of content on the pages (or in the posts). This content should also contain keywords that are in the title as well, for maximum SEO strength. So how do you highlight, or make sure your seo tactics get noticed? Why, you just bold, italicize and underline some of the various words that you want to be picked up. Just so you know too, this is a debatable subject whether or not the highlighting actually benefits you. I say use it, surely it couldn’t hurt.

For instance, it’s not a good thing to repeat a word like traffic theory over and over again throughout the entire post. Search engines, as well as the visitors that are actually reading your blog, would know something was up. So you have to have your posts make sense, while at the same time, gain maximum effect for the traffic strategies you have in mind. They say you should really write for your readers, and when applicable, insert those special keywords, like website traffic, into only places where they are going to make sense when the reader reads your posts. Once in awhile, spread throughout your posts, but only if they actually make sense when its read, is fine. Plus it’s a traffic tactic that can only help you.

Along with highlighting, another easy to do technique is to incorporate your previous posts into your current posts if you’re able, and it’s relevant. Not only will you gain the links that the search engines will pick up on when they index the post, but your readers may decide its something worth checking out as well.

Everybody has their own style and thoughts about traffic theory and techniques that they use, but the above is one of mine that I’m implementing into this blog. I’m sure there will be more as we go along that I’ll share with you! Now I’m off to install a few more widgets into this blog…
